Guagnano Winery
Enotria Cooperative Society
Enotria is the first cooperative winery founded in Guagnano, way back on June 25, 1960. The establishment of the Enotria Social Winery was almost necessary to showcase the vibrant winemaking activity that was taking place in those years, involving many of the town's farmers. Guagnano, the undisputed home of the Negroamaro lands, has a history intertwined with the long tradition of agricultural culture in its territory.
Almost all landowners, from the smallest to the most important, owned a small grape pressing plant or a modest olive press. Hence the need for a cooperative winery where members could share activities and goals, shouldering expenses and achieving results together.
